Outstanding Award – KTP Project

We are delighted to announce that our Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) collaboration between RUA Medical Devices Ltd and the University of Strathclyde has been awarded an “Outstanding” grade – the highest possible recognition for a KTP project.

This exceptional achievement comes from a 2 Associate project led by Dr Peter Jenkins and Dr Guillermo Idarraga, who took on the challenge of designing a novel textile made entirely from synthetic polymer materials intended for use in prosthetic heart valves.

This partnership, in conjunction with the wider RUA team, has led to the development of Aurtex – our textile reinforced and Elast-Eon™ enabled, heart valve leaflet material.
